We have  just returned from another fantastic celebration event at Energus, Workington, to reward all of the dedication demonstrated by 22 hard working Cumbrian schools taking part in the Centre for Leadership performance Bright Stars competition.

This year, Orian partnered with Upperby Primary School, Carlisle, in making their tuck shop ‘mini business’ a success. The Year 3 children and school staff worked incredibly hard to raise over £2,000 – half of which will go towards the School’s chosen charity whilst the other half will be put towards school funds. This fantastic total earned the school the award for ‘Most Profitable Business’ and the children were delighted to learn that they had created such a lucrative trade in only 8 weeks.

We can’t wait to hear about how the School have chosen to use their profit and we look forward to seeing them again at next year’s event!

A winning team!
The anticipation mounts…
Our wonderful certificate

Whilst we are on the subject of prizes, we would also like to congratulate Vicarage Park primary School – winners of our January comic competition to win a tablet. We were overwhelmed by the number of pupils who had worked hard to help our snowman find his lost nose and we had hundreds of successful entries to pick from. We can’t wait to award the School with their prize very soon!

Don’t forget to submit your competition entries from World Book Day by mid-June for your School’s chance to win a pile of food-themed books for pupils to get their teeth into!
