Curriculum-based Theme Days Link Learning to Lunch-time
November 2nd, 2017
This year, as part of Orian’s Lunch Shop meals theme day programme, we have introduced a series of optional theme days which are closely linked to the curriculum.
Orian Director Alistair Irvine said: “We know schools often like to follow curriculum topics through a number of avenues, not just in the classroom in formal learning.
“We are sometimes asked to create special menus to be part of the learning – for example, if there is a historical topic being studied, we may support that through creating a menu from that time period. Our staff have been known to get very into the spirit and dress up too!
“We’re always supportive of this and decided that this year we would create a range of six curriculum-based theme days which schools could choose to take part in if they wanted to link learning to lunch.
“These are supported by specially-created menus and promotional materials and the six themes are The Victorians, Space, The Tudors, The Great Fire of London, The Romans and The Egyptians. We will obviously always still support schools on other curriculum-based theme days too.
“We hope these theme events can help bring learning into lunchtime.”
