Kitchen teams will have to prepare extra portions of lunch to meet the appetite of the extra special guests who’ll be joining children in school dinners soon!

As well as the usual 13,000 children who have an Orian Solutions lunch every day, there will be a large amount of teddy bears joining the pupils when they host a Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

Tucking in to a specially-designed menu packed full of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, children have been invited to bring their favourite (and most greedy) teddy bear to school for the day to join them at the dinner table.

Orian Solutions, who work in more than 130 schools across the North of England, freshly prepare and serve meals at more than 100 schools across the North of England. A series of theme days and events are organized throughout the year to encourage young people to get involved in school dinners and try different things.

Alistair Irvine, Director at Orian, said: “We’re hoping children will get into the spirit of this fun event and bring along their favourite teddy to share lunch with – we will welcome all kinds of stuffed bears and other stuffed toys, as long as they are well-behaved!

“Our kitchen teams are really looking forward to meeting all their additional guests for the Teddy Bear’s Picnic and are working on menus fit for the most hungry of bears.”
