David’s 60th birthday mission to Ghana

This December, for his 60th birthday, Orian’s Head of Sales & Marketing David Whan will be heading to Ghana to volunteer with Village by Village, a small but extraordinary charity run by two old friends of his for over 20 years.

The charity’s aim is to eradicate poverty in Ghana, one village at a time, empowering communities by providing education, clean water and hope.

David will be joining the teams in Ghana to provide safe, clean water that can transform entire villages.

When clean water arrives, children can attend school, women can pursue opportunities, and communities can thrive.

David explains: “At the moment, many villagers walk miles each day to reach a river that isn’t always safe. It’s exhausting, dangerous and takes hours that could be spent learning, working or caring for family.

“I’ve seen how deeply this charity changes lives, which is why this cause is so close to my heart.”

David has paid 100% of his own travel and accommodation, so every penny donated goes directly to Village by Village and straight into the projects that matter.

Village by Village and its volunteers support local communities with sport, education, healthcare and construction, including digging wells in rural villages so families can access clean, safe water.
