Feeding Futures On and Off the Pitch

Orian Supports Crompton & Royton U12 Girls’ Football

A year ago, we proudly teamed up with Crompton & Royton U12 Girls’ Football Team, providing full kit sponsorship alongside another local business. Our very own colleague, who also coaches the team, led the initiative, making this a true example of community partnership in action.

Why It Matters

Supporting local initiatives has always been important to us, but this one felt especially meaningful. This year, Orian began providing food services to a number of schools across the Oldham area, including several attended by members of the Crompton & Royton team.

When Oldham schools were invited to find new catering partners following council funding changes, Orian stepped in to ensure children continued receiving nutritious, freshly prepared meals every day. Today, Orian Food Service proudly serves 10 schools in the Oldham borough.

Danny Brown, Head of Food Service at Orian Solutions, said the first contract secured was for Mills Hill School in Chadderton, where he had once been a pupil.

He added: “Council provision was all any of the schools had ever known, so for them to be told that provision was ending and being asked to source their own supplier was a huge challenge.

“With the deadline looming, we met with the schools quickly to demonstrate how we could provide a quality service and support them through the transition process.

“We were able to bring professionalism and give confidence and assurance that children would continue to receive school meals.”

More Children, Better Meals

Since Orian’s service launch in the area, school meal uptake has grown by over 10%, meaning more children are now enjoying a healthy lunch, some of whom may not have had one previously. It’s proof that great food, delivered with care, can make a genuine difference in local communities.

Just as we’re helping young players thrive on the pitch, we’re also helping pupils thrive in the classroom — by keeping them fuelled, focused, and ready to learn.
